When heritage British luggage maker Globe-Trotter wanted to capture its innovative new Mayfair collection, it reached out to SHOW to come up with the concept and campaign shoot.
As a longtime collaborator, SHOW knows Globe-Trotter suitcases inside out. But the Mayfair collection marks a new milestone for the British brand. For the first time in its 127-year history, Globe-Trotter has created a perfect miniaturised version of the iconic Centenary suitcase to serve as a chic cross-body handbag. The Mayfair Case is an exact replica of the Centenary suitcase, crafted with a lightweight metal frame complete with integrated hinges and the same high-quality leather straps and corners. Inside is a new interior organisation system to store your day-to-day essentials.
The name “Mayfair” is a nod to Globe-Trotter’s British heritage (every case and bag is still proudly made in the UK, with many elements crafted by hand) as well as the brand’s flagship location in the luxurious Burlington Arcade department store in Mayfair. As such, SHOW decided to shoot the campaign – which consisted of still images and videos – in the local neighbourhood. Quintessentially “London” details, such as red-brick buildings and black taxis, delineate the location without treading into cliché territory. Even a grey sky and wet pavement offer a stylish portrait of the British capital.
Two models walking the streets of Mayfair highlight the versatility of the Mayfair Case, which comes in classic colourways including a zesty lemon hue for the summer season. The shoot was captured by fashion photographer Georgia Devey Smith, with styling by Charlotte Blazeby.
Mayfair served as the perfect backdrop for this collection, designed for Globe-Trotter fans to take a piece of London with them on their journey – wherever that may be.
