Emporio Armani Magazine
Show Media produces a very special-edition issue of the revived Emporio Armani Magazine after a two-decade hiatus
In 1988, at the height of his fame and in the midst of a huge expansion of his eponymous brand, Giorgio Armani launched the Emporio Armani Magazine. Part catalogue, part glossy magazine, it ran for 10 years and 18 issues before coming to an end in 1997. Fast-forward to 2017, a whole two decades after the last issue was published, and the Italian fashion giant decided it was time to ‘revive the magazine to celebrate a new chapter in the label’s life.’
Issue 19 of Emporio Armani Magazine, titled ‘rEArranged’ and edited by Giorgio Armani, was produced by Show Media in September 2017. As a special-edition issue, it served as both a commemoration and celebration of the magazine and brand’s past while looking to the future.
Show Media designed the entire magazine and commissioned a fashion shoot and editorial-led features from esteemed industry journalists. The content is a mixture of engaging thought pieces on subjects such as the impact of the digital revolution on the fashion industry, and interviews and articles that reflect on Armani’s pioneering past. There are even musings from Hollywood royalty Jodie Foster and Diane Kruger on their unique relationship with the venerable designer.
The magazine was distributed internationally to Armani customers. A new issue scheduled for 2018, produced once again in collaboration with Show Media, is in the pipeline.
