Emporio Armani Magazine

Show Media produces a very special-edition issue of the revived Emporio Armani Magazine after a two-decade hiatus

In 1988, at the height of his fame and in the midst of a huge expansion of his eponymous brand, Giorgio Armani launched the Emporio Armani Magazine. Part catalogue, part glossy magazine, it ran for 10 years and 18 issues before coming to an end in 1997. Fast-forward to 2017, a whole two decades after the last issue was published, and the Italian fashion giant decided it was time to ‘revive the magazine to celebrate a new chapter in the label’s life.’

Issue 19 of Emporio Armani Magazine, titled ‘rEArranged’ and edited by Giorgio Armani, was produced by Show Media in September 2017. As a special-edition issue, it served as both a commemoration and celebration of the magazine and brand’s past while looking to the future.

Show Media designed the entire magazine and commissioned a fashion shoot and editorial-led features from esteemed industry journalists. The content is a mixture of engaging thought pieces on subjects such as the impact of the digital revolution on the fashion industry, and interviews and articles that reflect on Armani’s pioneering past. There are even musings from Hollywood royalty Jodie Foster and Diane Kruger on their unique relationship with the venerable designer.

The magazine was distributed internationally to Armani customers. A new issue scheduled for 2018, produced once again in collaboration with Show Media, is in the pipeline.

Bally Journal Christmas

Show Media is proud to announce the publication of the sixth edition of the Bally Journal for Christmas 2017. We edit and design the Journal with Bally and have worked on the publication – in both its digital and print formats – since its inception in 2014.

In this special issue, Rob Ryan recounts the stories of the most extraordinary gifts ever given, including white elephants and bowling alleys; Michael Prodger describes the beauty of artists’ Christmas cards; Amy Raphael discovers the unusual side of festive films; and Nancy Durrant writes about the finest in wintery art. Elsewhere in the issue, Bally celebrates its new collaboration with musician, artist and entrepreneur Swizz Beatz, and Phillip Mlynar explores the brand’s long love affair with hip-hop.

The Bally Journal is distributed worldwide in Chinese, Japanese, German and English to the brand’s stores and customers.

Skibo Golf Edition Newspaper

Show Media has produced a luxury newspaper to highlight the outstanding golf facilities at The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle.

The newspaper features an article about The Carnegie Links by double Open Championship winner Greg Norman; a hole-by-hole guide to the course by golf journalist Chris Bertram; an ode to the most picturesque golf courses in the Highlands, all easily accessible from Skibo, by Clive Agran; and an overview of The Carnegie Club’s spectacular new clubhouse, shop and facilities.

Beautifully presented with stunning photography of the course, clubhouse and castle, surrounded by magnificent Scottish scenery, the publication showcases the unique location and amenities that make The Carnegie Club a must-visit destination for golfing enthusiasts.

The project is part of our ongoing relationship with The Carnegie Club, as the publisher of its annual Skibo magazine.

Show Media X de Grisogono

This month, Show Media worked with photographer Matthew Shave to create a breathtaking visual story for de Grisogono. The shoot, art directed by Show Media, was commissioned by the Swiss high-jewellery house to tell the incredible story of its white gold, diamond and emerald necklace named The Art of de Grisogono, Creation 1.

The piece holds at its heart the largest ever emerald-cut diamond offered at auction and on the 14 November it broke all previous sale prices for a D-flawless diamond when it went under Christie’s hammer in Geneva, achieving a price of $33.7 million.

The 163.41-carat Flawless D-Colour diamond, one of the jewellery-world’s most significant stones, was set into the stunning necklace by 14 artisans, who took more than 1,700 hours to create the resulting masterpiece.

“This auction marks a high point for de Grisogono and the team that have worked so tirelessly to bring this incredible stone to life in this beautiful piece, Creation 1,” says Fawaz Gruosi, founder and creative director of de Grisogono, and designer of the landmark piece. “I am truly privileged to have had the opportunity to work with a historic stone of such perfection and would thank everyone who has taken part in this beautiful journey from mine to masterpiece.”

Moments of Wonder with Selfridges

We are thrilled to have worked with Selfridges to create its 2017 Christmas Book Of Wonder, art directed, edited and designed by Show Media.

A visual celebration of the iconic London store’s ‘With Love From…’ Christmas campaign, the Book Of Wonder is one of our most ambitious photography projects to date.

We created six festive worlds to showcase some of Selfridges’ most exclusive and luxurious gifts, working with multiple creative teams of stylists and photographers, including Olivia Jeczmyk, Aliki Kirmitsi, Pelle Crepin, Stuart Williamson, Emma Todd, Kerry Hughes, Baker & Evans, Anna Lomax, Andy Barter and Lou Blackshaw.

Calling on our roster of star writers, there are contributions from Hannah Betts, Maria Doulton, Simon de Burton and Pandora Sykes, and an insightful and inspiring ‘Selfridges Meets’ Q&A with artist Kate Daudy.

The thoughtfully chosen gifts within these pages are made with love, to be given with love; just like the Book Of Wonder.
